To Sail a Darkling Sea – Great Read

Just finished my second time through To Sail A Darkling Sea. It’s the second book in the Black Tide series by John Ringo and it’s another great read. John has a knack for Character development that really engages his readers. This books continues the story of how a group of survivors are dealing with a Zombie Apocalypse. The Central characters are two teen girls that are larger than life and have been prepared for this kind of event by their father. The first book was great and this one is even better. I can’t wait for the next book and that is a common trait of John Ringo books.

The Sixth Column

Yesterday I downloaded the January book bundle from Baen Books. The first story that I decided to read was The Sixth Column by Robert A. Heinlein. I have read quite a few of Heinlein’s other stories of the years and really enjoyed them. The story was interesting but since it was a short story, there was only so much that could be done with the character development. I enjoyed reading the story but it was not one of my favorites of his. I think that The Moon is a Harsh Mistress still holds that spot. I have re-read that story several times over the years and still find it very entertaining.

Good Read – Empire of Man Series

I just got done reading the Empire of Man series by David Weber and John Ringo. It’s a 4 book series that has a lot of action and some very interesting characters. Once I got into the story I didn’t want to put it down. It’s Sci-Fi but for the most part it is not set in space as so many Sci-Fi stories. It’s also part of the Sci-Fi military genre that I have been reading and have found to be very interesting. The books are excellent reads. The only bad thing I have to say about the series is that I think they left the readers hanging with the last book. There are too many loose ends that need to be tied up. I really liked the chracters and their development and was kind of bummed that I don’t get to see what happens to them. Please guys, give us more to let us see how things end up.

March Up Country is the first book in the series. Check it out if you like Sci-Fi
