Happy New Year – Welcome 2014
Happy New Year to all. Hope that you all have a great 2014. I spent a rather uneventful New Years Eve watching TV with my daughter and am wide awake to start a new year. I am going to try and make a couple of changes in 2014.
- Use My Blog More Often. I am going to try and post something to my blog at least once a week. I have not used this nearly as much as I wanted to when I initially started this. I now have it setup with WordPress and am not going to be tweaking it much so I can just spend time using it instead.
- Stop Procrastinating. When I identify something that needs to be done I am going to try to get it done soon rather than put it on a list and never get around to it.
- Read more. I would like to read a new book every month. Going to make it a habit to read every night before bed.
- Stop stress eating. I need to exercise more and not eat when I am stressed. I am going to get my weight down this year.
So now that I have some goals set for 2014 I can come back and look at them to be reminded of what I am trying to accomplish.
Jan 1 2016
Hello 2016
It’s the first day of 2016 and I am going to try to do some things differently in 2016 than I did in 2015. First of all I am going to concentrate more on Fitness. I started this in 2015 but am going to carry this through all of 2016 and really emphasize it. I am going to use my Fitbit every day and going to try to walk at least 5 miles a day. I joined an online challenge to walk at least 1000 miles in 2016 and I should be able to do that. I have walked over 800 miles since August when I started concentrating on getting back into shape. I am also going to continue to work on my weight this year. When I started last August I was about 19o. I worked myself down to 177 by the end of the year. By the end of 2016 I would like to be about 160.
Blogging and learning are another thing I would like to concentrate on in 2016. I am going to try and use my blog site at least once a week to post about something I am doing. I haven’t decided what I am going to concentrate on learning in 2016 yet. Most days when I am done with work I really don’t feel much like learning more about Networking. It would be good for me but I am not sure I want to do that. Maybe I will concentrate on learning a programming language like Python or Perl. Will have to get back to that.
I would also like to read more in 2016. I read a number of books in 2015 and plan to continue that in 2016. Baen has quite a few authors that I enjoy and I would like to read more new stories and not reread as many older books in 2016.
I guess that’s all I have to start out 2016. Hoping it’s a good year.
