To Sail a Darkling Sea - Great Read

Just finished my second time through To Sail A Darkling Sea. It's the second book in the Black Tide series by John Ringo and it's another great read. John has a knack for Character development that really engages his readers. This books continues the story of how a group of survivors are dealing with a Zombie Apocalypse. The Central characters are two teen girls that are larger than life and have been prepared for this kind of event by their father. The first book was great and this one is even better. I can't wait for the next book and that is a common trait of John Ringo books.

Detox for Healthier Me

Today I started a 7 Day Detox Program to try and up my metabolism and lose some weight.  I am using the NuLean products that I got through my Chiropractor and friend Dan Hyatt.  I have seen plenty of programs that claim they will help you lose weight fast so I was skeptical at first.  Dan was holding a free class about the program Wednesday night so I attended his class and decided to give it a try.  The information that he presented made sense to me and I new that I was not being taken in by a Snake Oil Salesman.  I have known Dan since High School and I know him to be a very honest person so if he says he has used the product himself and uses it with his patients then it is worth my taking a look at it.

I know that it's not a miracle cure to my overweight issue but it is a first step.  I need to take off some weight and make some diet changes to keep losing weight to avoid many of the health issues that can come with being overweight.  It gets harder as you get older so now is as good a time as any to  make this step.

Happy New Year - Welcome 2014

Happy New Year to all. Hope that you all have a great 2014.  I spent a rather uneventful New Years Eve watching TV with my daughter and am wide awake to start a new year.  I am going to try and make a couple of changes in 2014.

  • Use My Blog More Often.  I am going to try and post something to my blog at least once a week.  I have not used this nearly as much as I wanted to when I initially started this.  I now have it setup with Wordpress and am not going to be tweaking it much so I can just spend time using it instead.

  • Stop Procrastinating.  When I identify something that needs to be done I am going to try to get it done soon rather than put it on a list and never get around to it.

  • Read more.  I would like to read a new book every month.  Going to make it a habit to read every night before bed.

  • Stop stress eating. I need to exercise more and not eat when I am stressed.  I am going to get my weight down this year.

So now that I have some goals set for 2014 I can come back and look at them to be reminded of what I am trying to accomplish.
